President Trump Orders Steps Taken to Ban "Bump Stocks"

During a Medal of Valor ceremony, President Trump announces that he just signed a memorandum directing Attorney General Jeff Sessions to propose a rule outlawing bump stocks. His order comes after last week's high school shooting in Parkland, Florida, in which 17 staff and students died after a former student opened fire. "We must do more to protect our children.," the president says. he also adds that "school safety is a top priority" of his administration following the shooting rampage, a subject which he says he will take up with the nation's governors when they visit the White House next week. close
