House Speaker Reacts to Pennsylvania Special Election Result

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) reacts to Democrat Conor Lamb's apparent victory in the Pennsylvania 18th special election, saying if Mr. Lamb won its because he ran as a conservative – a scenario that he said would not be repeated in other races. He also said President Trump's rally the Friday before the special election helped "close" the race and bring the Republican close to a possible victory. The New York Times reported that Mr. Lamb held a lead of 641 votes early Wednesday morning (today) with some absentee ballots still to be counted. Mr. Lamb claimed victory in the early hours of Wednesday morning. close
