Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA) spoke against a bill that would target corporate executives receiving bonuses after a taxpayer bailout. The House by a 328-93 vote passed a bill that taxed American International Group (AIG) and other corporate bonuses by up to 90 percent. The legislation was in reaction to news that AIG executives had received $165 million in bonuses after receiving more than $170 billion in taxpayer bailout money. close
