Sen. Hirono & Judge Kavanaugh Have Heated Exchange on Sexual Harassment in Judicial Branch

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) asks Judge Brett Kavanaugh if he has ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a physical nature. Judge Kavanaugh responds "no" to all the questions. In addition, she asks Judge Kavanaugh about the sexual assault allegations against former Judge Alex Kozinski, who he previously clerked for. Kavanaugh responds saying no woman should be subjected to sexual harassment in the workplace and he never heard or witnessed any allegations of sexual harassment. He goes on to say he has no reason not to believe the women who have made allegations against Judge Kozinski. close
