John Dean, the former White House counsel in the Nixon administration, has raised concerns with the Senate Judiciary Committee about Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh's views and testimony on presidential powers. In an exchange with Senator Sheldon White House (D-RI), Dean said the Kavanaugh failed to inform the committee of his position on the 1974 Supreme Court case, U.S. v Nixon, the unanimous decision against the 37th president ordering him to turn over White House tapes to a federal district court. close
