Former Vice President Joe Biden tells a National Action Network breakfast gathering in Washington, D.C. that he hasn't always been on the right side of the issue when it comes to criminal justice. "I haven't always been right. I know we haven't always gotten things right, but I've always tried," the former vice president says. He also condemns the "dark forces" of hatred that he said "have been deliberately re-awakened again." Pointing to the riot in Charlottesville in 2017, in which one woman was killed, he condemns the "moral equivalence between those spreading the hate and those opposing it," He tells the audience that "silence is complicity...you have to speak out, we have to challenge the forces of hate. This is not our America. This is not who we are." close
