Representative Schiff Backs Speaker Pelosi's Stance on Impeachment

House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff (D-CA) says Speaker Nancy Pelosi was right in her comments about the standard for impeaching the president, saying the evidence would have to be "extraordinarily clear and compelling" to move forward with articles of impeachment. He said that Republicans have shown themselves to be unwilling to go against the president, including on a recent vote to block his national emergency declaration to deal with the situation on the southern border with Mexico, and adds that absent their support, impeachment would become "a partisan exercise that's doomed for failure."
