House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy says he is not opposed to the idea of public-private partnerships as Congress and the president look to craft new infrastructure legislation. President Trump, who met with Democratic leaders and backed a $2 trillion investment, has previously criticized a proposal put forward by former economic adviser Gary Cohn that also included such partnerships. Leader McCarthy says he is also opposed to raising taxes to pay for any new infrastructure plan. The president and Democratic leaders are expected to meet again in the coming weeks to discuss how to pay for their proposal. close
