House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in an appearance at a Washington Post forum on her legislative priorities, says she believes Attorney General William Barr should be held in contempt for his failure to comply with a subpoena and turn over the unredacted version of the Mueller report to the Judiciary Committee. She also cites the attorney general's failure to show up and testify on the Mueller report's findings and his recent testimony before a House Appropriations subcommittee, where he said he was not aware of any concerns among Robert Mueller's team about how he was characterizing the report. After that testimony, the Washington Post and other media outlets reported that the special counsel raised concerns with the Mr. Barr about his initial letter to Congress on the report's findings and then submitted those concerns in writing. The speaker also doesn't rule out impeaching the attorney general over the matter. close
