Secretary of State Mike Pompeo responds to a question at a news conference with his German counterpart in Berlin on the fate of members of the North Korean officials involved in denuclearization talks and the Hanoi summit. Unconfirmed reports from South Korea suggest that Kim Kyok Chol, North Korea's special envoy to the U.S., was executed by firing squad in March along with four others, and that Kim Yong Chol, Mr. Pompeo's counterpart in negotiations, was sentenced to hard labor and is undergoing "ideological education" for his role in the collapse of the nuclear summit. Secretary Pompeo declines to elaborate on their fate, saying only that he had seen the reports and the U.S. is "doing our best to check it out." close
