President Trump Says Mexico Will Face Tariffs If It Doesn't Step Up

At a bilateral meeting with Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, President Trump tells reporters that he believes Mexico wants to make a deal to avoid five percent tariffs going into effect on June 10, but he warns "they will go on" if the Mexican government doesn't step up and help stem the tide of migrants moving up from Central America toward the U.S. border. Vice President Pence and Secretary of State Pompeo are meeting with Mexican officials to resolve the issue. The president also says that China wants to do a deal to avert further tariffs. close
