In a press availability with reporters on the South Lawn of the White House, President Trump says the U.S. has to be "very careful" about letting refugees from the Bahamas in the country in the wake of Hurricane Dorian. "Everybody needs totally proper documentation. Because, look, the Bahamas had some tremendous problems with people going to the Bahamas that weren’t supposed to be there. I don’t want to allow people that weren’t supposed to be in the Bahamas to come into the United States — including some very bad people and very bad gang members.” the president says. His comments come after Customs and Border Protection Acting Commissioner Mark Morgan said Bahamians fleeing the island would be allowed to come into the U.S., whether they have travel documents or not. close
