Nicholas Haros, whose mother, Frances Haros, was killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11, challenges comments made by Representative Ilhan Omar at an event in March hosted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), where she said: "CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties." After reading the names of some of those killed on 9/11, including his mother, Haros says: "'Some people did something' said a freshman congresswoman from Minnesota…Today I am here to respond to you exactly who did what to whom." Haros goes on to criticize Representative Omar and three fellow Democrats known as "the squad." "Our constitutional freedoms were attacked and our nation's founding on Judeo-Christian principles were attacked," Haros said. "That's what some people did - got that now? We are here today, Congresswoman, to tell you and 'the squad' just who did what to whom." close
