During a House Intelligence Committee hearing on the whistleblower complaint regarding President Trump and his communication with the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire defends his agency's handling of the complaint, which he says was handled professionally, was taken seriously, and not ignored. He says that he thought the whistleblower and his agency's inspector general were being truthful and acting in good faith and that he valued the IG's independence. Director Maguire also defends himself, saying, "I am not partisan, and I am not political. I believe in a life of service, and I am honored to be a public servant. I served under eight presidents while I was in uniform. I have taken the oath to the Constitution 11 times." close
