Former Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch, who was removed from her post in Kyiv earlier this year, testifies before the House Intelligence Committee in its second open impeachment inquiry hearing. In her opening statement, she questions the campaign by Rudy Giuliani against her that ultimately led to her dismissal. "I do not understand Mr. Giuliani's motives for attacking me," Yovanovitch says. She also expresses concerns about what she calls "the degradation of the Foreign Service" and "the failure of State Department leadership to push back as foreign and corrupt interests apparently hijacked our Ukraine policy." The former ambassador also speaks of her disappointment that the State Department's leadership declined to acknowledge what was going on was "dangerously wrong." close
