During a bilateral meeting with President Trump on the sidelines of the NATO summit in London, French President Emmanuel Macron says he stands by his earlier criticism of the alliance where he called it "brain dead." The French leader also raised concerns about the situation in northern Syria in the wake of Turkey's incursion into the region, and he says NATO needs "clarifications from the Turkish side" on key defense issues, including the purchase of Russian S-400s. And he criticized Turkish demands to label Kurdish groups who fought alongside NATO allies against ISIS as "terrorist organizations." close
