Rep. McCarthy on Reports of Rep. Van Drew Switching to Republican Party

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) responds to reports that New Jersey Democrat Rep. Jeff Van Drew will switch to the Republican Party this week. He tells reporters, "I don't blame Congressman Van Drew for being disappointed in the Democrats--American public is disappointed in the Democrats," and later adds that people have moved parties in the past, but he has "a hard time finding anyone who moves from the majority party to the minority party." close
