In outlining the case that President Trump abused his power by withholding aid to Ukraine in exchange for investigations of one of his political rivals, House manager Jerrold Nadler says: "The Constitution is not a suicide pact. It does not leave us stuck with presidents who abuse their power in unforeseen ways that threaten our security and Democracy. Representative Nadler goes on quote George Mason, saying that what the president did amount to "great and dangerous offenses" and that "he poses a continuing threat to our nation, to the integrity of our elections, to our democratic order," and for these reasons, he should be removed from office. close
