Alabama Democratic Senator Doug Jones, who is up for re-election later his year, says he will vote to convict President Trump on both articles of impeachment--abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Conceding that he might pay a political price for his vote, he says that he will "not shrink from my duty to defend the Constitution and to do impartial justice in keeping with my oath." Senator Jones also notes that while he is delivering his remarks from the same desk once occupied by Senator John F. Kennedy, he is not a profile in courage. "It is simply a matter of right and wrong. Doing right is not a courageous act, it is simply following your oath," he says. close
