Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer condemns President Trump's decision to intervene on Twitter in the sentencing of former associate Roger Stone, calling it a disgrace and pledging to do congressional oversight on the matter. "Roger Stone should get the full amount of time the prosecutors recommended," Senator Schumer says. Prosecutors in the case recommended seven to nine years, but after President Trump called that a "miscarriage of justice" on Twitter overnight, the Justice Department announced it was reviewing the sentencing recommendation and would clarify its position. Aaron Zelinsky, a prosecutor in the case, resigned immediately following the Justice Department's announcement that it was considering a lighter sentence. close
