Senator Sherrod Brown criticizes President Trump's actions since he was acquitted by the Senate on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress and accuses the president of going on a "retribution tour" with his dismissal of Alexander and Yevgeny Vindman and E.U. Ambassador Gordon Sondland. He says the only lesson the president has learned from his acquittal is that "he can do whatever he wants." Senator Brown warns his Senate colleagues that they are enabling the president by not speaking out publicly about his behavior in office, and he says that the president's behavior will only get worse. Senator Brown's comments come in the wake of President Trump's intervention in the sentencing of his former associate, Roger Stone, and his decision to withdraw the nomination of Jessie Liu to be undersecretary of the Treasury and Elaine McCusker to be Pentagon comptroller. Liu oversaw the office that prosecuted Roger Stone, while McCusker voiced concerns about withholding Ukraine aid. close
