During his opening statement at a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announces a 15th confirmed coronavirus case on top of the 45 individuals who were repatriated from Wuhan, China and the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan and are being monitored in quarantine, as well as 15 other cases. Secretary Azar reiterates the immediate risk to Americans remains low but that with community transmission of the virus detected in countries outside of Asia the number of cases here in the U.S. is expected to rise. He also says the federal government is working with state, local and private partners to mitigate against the spread of the disease. close
