New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says there is more evidence the social-distancing measures taken by the state are working and that the coronavirus curve is flattening. However, he warns that the restrictions need to stay in place in order for the downward trend to continue. He also says that if the hospitalization rate continues to go down then it should help stabilize the hospital system. However, the governor also says that the state saw its highest death toll on Tuesday with 779 deaths, bringing the overall total to 6,268. By way of comparison, New York lost 2,753 people on 9/11, the governor says. close
