Speaker Pelosi Introduces Police Reform Legislation

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi introduces police reform legislation during a news conference on Capitol Hill with members of the Congressional Black Caucus and other Democratic colleagues. The bill bans choke holds, no-knock warrants in drug searches, and combat police brutality by requiring body and dashboard cameras, and end racial profiling. The bill will also demilitarize the police by limiting the transfer of military equipment to state and local police departments. Speaker Pelosi says the House will act on the legislation and that the Senate should also take it up and send it to the president for his signature. close
