White House Says President Reads Presidential Daily Brief (PDB)

Asked about reports that President Trump doesn't read his Presidential Daily Brief (PDB), White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany defends the president, saying, "The president does read and he also consumes intelligence verbally. This president, I'll tell you, is the most informed person on planet Earth when it comes to the threats that we face." The question comes amid reports that Russia has been paying bounties for the killing of U.S. service members in Afghanistan and that intelligence about the bounties was included in the PDB earlier this year. The president and the White House have both said that he was not briefed on the matter prior to the New York Times' publication of the story over the weekend. close
