During a news conference in Columbia, South Carolina, Vice President Pence responds to a question about concerns parents and teachers have about sending their kids back to school for fear they might become infected with the deadly coronavirus. The vice president says the risk to children and young people under 18 is very low unless they have an underlying health condition. He also says that if his kids were of elementary school age, he would have no hesitation in sending them to school. Asked about what plans are being made should a child or teacher become infected and die from the disease, the vice president says the administration is working to make sure the guidance and resources are in place to ensure that never happens. close
