Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and infectious Diseases, says that public health measures like wearing a mask, washing your hands, and maintaining social distance can help turn the coronavirus pandemic around. Dr. Fauci makes the comments during a conversation at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., as the number of daily infections surpasses 143,000--a level he warned Congress earlier this year was possible if the country didn't follow best CDC guidelines. "We're in a difficult situation...When I testified before the Congress four months ago, I said if we did not get control of this that we would reach 100,000 a day and people thought I was being hyperbolic and now look what's happening," Dr. Fauci says. close
