Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says lawmakers will not be leaving for the holidays until work is completed on a new COVID-19 relief package. He says that the fastest way to do that is to drop the liability protection and aid to state and local governments until January. He also urges people to get vaccinated, saying it is the right thing to do. A polio survivor himself, he says he is eager to get the vaccine. Asked about the president's ongoing rejection of the election outcome, Senator McConnell says he has no advice for the president but adds that the Electoral College vote was "determinative" for him. close
