If you are a logistics company, you have surely heard of last mile logistics. For many years it has been known that there are various stages within any logistics process, one of them is this. It is called the “last mile” because it is the last section of a supply chain, it is here where the product is delivered to the end customer.
Here, David Solomont, founder and Chairman of ev Transportation Services, Inc ("evTS"), explains what last mile logistics is.
What is “last mile” logistics?
“As we have already mentioned at the beginning of this article, the “last mile” logistics is that last part, that last stretch that the product must go through to reach the end customer,” says Solomont.
According to Solomont, this concept of logistics is closely linked to e-commerce businesses since this type of business usually depends a lot on this point. However, we can apply the concept to any business that involves delivering a final product to a customer.
