At her morning news conference, Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) outlines her security requests for Inauguration Day. She urges Americans to not come to D.C. for Inauguration but to participate virtually instead. Mayor Bowser announces she has also requested that President Trump declare a pre-emergency declaration for Washington, D.C. In addition, Mayor Bowser says she sent a letter to DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf to extend the national special security event period from January 11 thru January 24. Also, she urges the Interior Department to cancel all public gathering permits in the district. close
