At a speech in Wilmington, Delaware, to unveil his plan to step up the COVID-19 vaccination effort, President-elect Biden appeals to the general public to mask up saying it is the patriotic thing to do. The president elect says once he is sworn in he will issue an executive order making masks mandatory on federal properties. He also laments that the wearing of masks has become a partisan issue and criticizes Republican lawmakers who refused to wear them while under lockdown during the attack on the Capitol. "What the hell is the matter with them? It's time to grow up," he says. Several lawmakers, who were in the room with them, have since become infected with the virus. close
