Representative Raskin Recalls Family's Experiences of January 6 Attack

During his closing argument on the constitutionality of the impeachment trial, Lead House Manager Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) speaks about bringing his daughter and son-in-law with him to the Capitol to witness the Electoral College vote certification, and how during the attack on the Capitol they "thought like they were going to die." Representative Raskin goes on to speak about those who were killed and injured in the attack and concludes by saying: "Senators, this cannot be our future. This cannot be the future of America. We cannot have presidents inciting and mobilizing mob violence against our government and our institutions because they refuse to accept the will of the people." close
