During the White House COVID-19 briefing, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said she has a "recurring feeling of impending doom" and that "right now, I'm scared," in regards to rising cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. She said the current trajectory in the U.S. mirrors Europe's trajectory a few weeks ago. She called on politicians and leaders to, "sound the alarm" about the rise saying, "we don't have the luxury of inaction." She encouraged vaccination efforts. close
