During an unannounced visit to Kabul, Afghanistan, Secretary of State Antony Blinken responds to questions about fears and concerns there over the decision to withdraw U.S. troops by September 11. "This is a time of transition, and with any transition comes uncertainty, comes concern, and I very much recognize that and I see that," the secretary says. However, he says that Afghan leaders he met with respect President Biden's decision, appreciate what the U.S. has done over the last 20 years, and are optimistic about the next chapter. “Our partnership with Afghanistan is enduring. We will remain side by side going forward,” Blinken pledges. close
