FBI Director Christopher Wray says the Bureau was aware that large groups of people would be traveling to Washington, D.C. on January 6 to protest the election and that there were some concerns about the potential for violence. He says an unverified and unattributed report out the Norfolk office was passed on to other law enforcement agencies. "What we did not have...is intelligence indicating that hundreds and hundreds of people were going to breach the Capitol complex," Director Wray says. He goes on to say that about 500 people have been arrested in the ongoing investigation and that the FBI is trying to learn from the attack to ensure that it never happens again. close
