Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) urges Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) not to invoke cloture on the bipartisan infrastructure bill, saying it would be a mistake to "truncate" the process. And he says he will urge his colleagues, including negotiators on the bill, to vote against the motion if the Democratic leader proceeds. "Slow and steady wins the race," Senator McConnell advises. The Republican leader also jokes about Senator Schumer beating him to the bank of microphones earlier to talk to reporters first about the legislative agenda this week.
