Former Facebook Product Manager Frances Haugen calls on Congress to regulate the social media platform, saying the company won't change on its own without congressional oversight. She says while she believes "Facebook has the potential to bring out the best in us," she believes that Facebook's products "harm children, stoke division, and weaken our democracy." She says that company leadership knows how to make both Facebook and Instagram safer, but says that they have chosen to put profits before people. "Congressional action is needed. They won't solve this crisis without your help," Haugen says. close
