President Biden: Omicron Variant "Cause for Concern, Not Cause for Panic"

In a speech in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, President Biden tells the American people that the newly detected Omicron variant of the cornonavirus "is a cause for concern, not a cause for panic. The president says the best protection against the virus is the vaccine and he urges everyone to get vaccinated and if they received their two shots before June 1 to go and get their booster shot. The president also says that administration health officials "do not believe that additional measures will be needed" but says that he will accelerate vaccine development and help streamline the FDA approval process should additional boosters be necessary. close
