USAID Administrator Samantha Power, who is just back from a visit to the Ukraine-Poland border says she expects the refugee crisis to deteriorate in the coming days and weeks as more and more Ukrainians flee their homes from advancing Russian forces. Current estimates put the number of people displaced by the war at over one million. She also addresses concerns over discrimination against third-country nationals seeking refuge and says she welcomes condemnation by the Polish and Ukrainian authorities. She says that after the chaos of the first few days, she expects there to be a more orderly process going forward. close
