Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander Retired General Wesley Clark says the argument that transferring fighter jets would be escalatory and tantamount to declaring a no-fly zone is a "strawman" that is "put up there to avoid a serious discussion about how to use air power." He says that if he was still in uniform he would have recommended the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine. He also says that the onus should be put on Russia and that if they choose to confront NATO then that's their problem. "So we're on the one hand defending an international rules-based order, but on the other hand not following our own legal construct. This is an independent state that has been invaded," General Clark says. close
