He was a 21-year-old college student when, in the early morning of October 8, 1998, two men tied him to a split-rail fence in a remote area east of Laramie, Wyoming, where he was beaten and left to die. Nearly 18 hours later he was found by a cyclist. He died October 12, 1998. close
