Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) speaks about Ukrainian President Zelensky's visit to Washington, D.C. today and his scheduled address to a joint meeting of Congress this evening as Senators consider a $1.7 trillion Omnibus Spending Bill, which includes additional funding for defense and the war in Ukraine. Senator McConnell calls the bill "imperfect but strong," but adds, "This is a debate about American security, American services members, and American interests." And he says "helping our friends in Eastern Europe to win this war is also a direct investment in reducing Putin's future capabilities to menace America, threaten our allies, and contest our core interests." close
