The 2016 Democratic Platform Drafting Committee held its second day of hearings to listen to party officials and policy experts on education, jobs, and the economy.


“Moving America Forward: Education, Jobs, and the Economy” was the second day of the first in a series of regional events. This Mid-Atlantic Regional Forum was held in Washington, D.C.

The Democratic National Convention Committee’s Platform Drafting Committee held a hearing on what should be included in the party’s platform for the July 2016 convention in Philadelphia. One of the witnesses was former Attorney General Eric Holder, who talked about the need to address issues with the American criminal justice system. Other topics discussed included fighting poverty, immigration policy, and countering Islamophobia.


“Leveling the Playing Field: Creating Opportunity and Removing Barriers” was the first in a series of regional events. This Mid-Atlantic Regional Forum was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C.
