Historian Winifred Gallagher discussed women's historical position in American society including colonial times, the Industrial Revolution, agrarian and Victorian times and western migration. She highlighted the ideas that were discussed by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott, and Sojourner Truth at the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848, explained how America was changing in the West at that time, and women's status as they migrated to that part of the country.
