While under suspension of the rules the House dealt with numerous measures. The Domestic Volunteer Service Act, H.R. 1312, was amended to extend through fiscal year 1992 certain authorities relating to national volunteer antipoverty programs. An amendment to H.R. 2087, the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act was passed which would reauthorize funds for child abuse prevention through fiscal year 1991. H.R. 2088 was passed which revises and extends programs established in the Temporary Child Care for Handicapped children and Crisis Nurseries Act of 1986. It reauthorizes respite care for parents of disabled and chronically ill children.
