House Session - October 1, 1990

The House agreed to H.J. Res. 658 to support the president’s actions with respect to the Iraqi aggression against Kuwait and to demonstrate the United States' resolve. The House agreed to H.J. Res. 418 calling for the United States to encourage negotiations for full protection of Antarctica as a global ecological commons. The House passed H.Con. Res. 329 calling for the United States sanctions against countries who violate the International Whaling Commission’s moratorium on commercial whaling. The House passed H.R. 3954 mandating the establishment of a Peace Corps memorial in the District of Columbia. It was made an order for the Chairman of the Budget Committee to take from the Speaker’s table H.Con.Res. 310. The House agreed to the Senate amendment to H.R. 5725, to extend the expiration date of the Defense Production Act of 1950.
