Members began the day with the Fiscal Year 1995 Defense Department Spending Bill H R 4650. This Bill provides $243.6 Billion dollars for the Defense Department, an increase of $3.5 billion over the fiscal year 1994. Following were debates on the House-Senate agreement on the lobbyist disclosure bill. This measure attempts to set new standards for the registration of lobbyists and also prohibit members from accepting gifts such as meals, entertainment, travel-related expenses, legal defense funds, or charitable contributions from all but their closest personal friends. Waste disposal and Special Orders filled out the session.
