Members debated the rules for two bills to be debated later in the week. Then, in a 354-60 vote, the House adopted a joint resolution opposing President Trump's decision to withdraw U.S. troops from northern Syria. Four members voted present, and 129 Republicans voted with 225 Democrats for the measure. Lawmakers later considered several suspension bills, including the naming of post offices for the late Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN) and actress Marilyn Monroe, as well as legislation to change the monetary allowances and pensions for former U.S. presidents.
