Lawmakers passed a resolution reaffirming the House of Representative's commitment to the orderly and peaceful transfer of power called for in the Constitution. Members also voted to table a resolution proposed by Representative Louie Gohmert (R-TX) to remove from the House wing of the U.S. Capitol, and any House office building, any item that names, symbolizes, or mentions any political party that supported slavery or the Confederacy. They also considered more than 20 other suspension bills.
