The House approved the House-Senate compromise on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which sets defense programs and policy for fiscal year 2021. President Trump had vowed to veto the measure over the removal of names and symbols that honor Confederate generals. Lawmakers also passed several other measures, including one that waives the five-month Social Security disability insurance waiting-period for people with with ALS.
